Charge!

     Again, a comment on the commercialization of the season, inspired by a comedian who quipped that "To save time, my family will exchange credit card numbers instead of gifts."   

     Naturally, I did not want to use any real identification on these parodies, so all the numbers are scrambled.  Some thought this might be a comment on the feared "Y2K bug".  More like Humbug.

     While the world partied, my wife and I spent Millennium Eve at work, staring at monitor terminals, waiting for GTE's network to crash and the world to end. The new century arrived without so much as a techno-hiccup.

     The cat is our Shadow, fresh from a bath.
